Spring Development Program for 2011
The Grizzly Spring Development Program is the foundation of our youth hockey training at Village Sports.  Now in its 5th year, the program has become the model by which other youth hockey training programs are compared.

The program takes a personalized and skill based approach to individual player development by combining a FUN weekly clinic with a 3 v 3 game each Sunday.  It is the one time a year where we don’t keep score and we encourage the kids to take chances and try new moves and shots.  The result is a substantial increase in skill sets and a player that can’t wait to get to the rink.

We work hard, but at the same time realize that the players are just finishing a tough winter season and many are also playing a spring sport or two.  We encourage players to play a spring sport and offer a variety of clinic times to work around their spring schedules.  During registration, players will select their preferred clinic night (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs or no-preference).  Prior to the start of the program at the end of March, families will have a chance to revisit their playing night.

New this year!
New this year will include a Sean Skinner stick handling progression that will involve a short off ice session prior to the players on ice clinic.  We will also be giving each player a Skinner Stick handling off ice CD so they may work on the stick handling progression at home.  The off ice session will take place 20 minutes either before or after the clinic depending on the group.  Sean’s program is world renowned and we are glad to be the only local program to offer it.
